On the long way from Palmerton to Samoa. During my shift this morning the wind picked up a bit and reached 8 knots and changed to NE. I furled out the jib and it was standing nicely, helping to save a bit of fuel. Gael had to take it in during his the next shift, since it was flapping. A lot.
In the morning the wind had turned more Easterly and had picked up a few knots. Time to raise the main. It went well this time and we made good speed.
In the evening the screen of my laptop broke. It could be that some water leaked through the faulty gasket of the hatch, which happened before, and dripped on the computer. It still boots and the Function key Touch Bar doers the things it should. So hopefully it is only the screen. I asked Mavic to send my external HDMI screen via Christopher. I hope that works. No idea whether I can buy a new computer on the way. No backup since Tahiti. In the worst case the ship inventory I came up with and some electrical diagrams are gone.
I must document this too: The food on this cruise is excellent. French and Filipino Cousine.
