This page compares the original condition of boat components with the result of the initial restoration. “After” pictures will be replaced when progress is made.

The underwater hull

The underwater ship had lots of damages. Three spots of some minor osmosis

Instruments

Only depth gauge worked. Wind sensor worked some times. Displays were unreadable.

The Motor Control Panels

Key was stuck and could not be removed. Alarm buzzer did not work.

The Mast Boot

The mast is going through the deck and sitting on the kiel.

Looks quite bad, corrosion and rot caused by the many leaks,
Around 1 kg of moist gunk and residues of whatsoever around the mast foot below the floor

Hatches and Windows

Saloon hatch

Temporary fix until the new hatch arrives from Germany

Fixed windows in the Saloon

The plexy glass is just screwed onto the surgace of the cabin deck. The frame has gaps, the sealant broken. The windows leaded at several places.

Restored bulkhead and new panel on working table

The Saildrive

Hose clamp of upper diaphragm was totally loose. If the lower diaphragm would have eaked, no additional protectoin, the boat would have sunk.

The Sensors

Three sensors, two for depth, one for speed
One old depth sensor retaines as backup. New speed/temperature and depth sensors.
Speed sensor was totally clogged
Through hull fittings for new sensors
