Bilge Pumps

The manual pump

The pump initially looked like it is beyond repair. There was an unused spare part kit on board (80 UK Pounds plus shipping) and probably the broken eye bolt could be found on Lazada or Shopee.

November 14: Spent 2 hours to remove the goo, loose powder coating and the valves. Given that the space in the boat is very limited I also removed the not needed fittings for mounting the pump in different locations.

November 16: Disassembled the pump, removed the goo and corroded metal, and primed the inside with etch primer.
November 19: Primed with epoxy primer, painted with epoxy paint and threads re-cut. Unfortunately one thread is worn out, so I have to fix it before assembly. I have helicoil kits for M6, M8 and M10, but none for M5. So I have to order that before I can continue with the assembly.

The electric bilge pump

The float switch of the electric pump is broken. There is a second hand spare, but it seems to have the same problem.
