Update – All Souls Regatta 2025

There have been some changes…

The 2025 All Souls Regatta of the Puerto Galera Yacht Club was just announced to be on October 30 – September 2. After we failed to bring Magayon II to last year’s All Souls Regatta because of lack of wind and the resulting emptied batteries for the electric outboard motor, and we missed the 2025 Easter Regatta because we were in the South Sea transferring Costa Rica from Tahiti to Fiji, we wanted to join the All Souls Regatta this time for sure. Also because we had a brand new Yamaha 8hp gasoline guzzler again. Unfortunately, for the ones looking forward to the event and the sailing opportunities, this will now not happen as planned because Magayon II is off to new adventures with new owners.

On September 10, the new owners M. and A., and Martin the last time as her skipper, took her out of Subic Bay. After a short “hands on training”, Martin left Magayon II and the new owners at Morong beach, where Mavic picked him up to drive back to SBFZ. Magayon II and here new owners then set sail towards Dumagete, which will be her new home.

It is still very likely that we will join the 2025 All Souls Regatta, but this time on a bigger boat, a 36ft monohull Racing Cruiser. This will be decided in the next days. And then we will have to sail the new boat to Subic Bay after the regatta to dry dock her for new antifouling and to do some upgrading. So we will still be needing crew, but for now details are not yet available.

The regattas are exciting events and we always have fun. Watch some of the videos of previous events here.

There will be two opportunities for crew to join the event and afterwards the transfer from Puerto Galera to Subic Bay:

The Regatta

Day 1: October 31
Day 2: November 1
Day 3: November 2

Puerto Galera to Subic

Start around November 9

During the Regatta days the Yacht Club usually also organises a Halloween party.

On the way up I plan to explore some of the marinas on the way for staying overnight.

Are you interested?

Please let me know if you are interested to join one, or all legs of the trip. For the regatta, since probably most people might want to join this leg, it will be on first come first serve basis. Crew coming from abroad will also get priority.
